We started out as Straumli AI, inspired by the iconic story of an ambitious human civilization on the brink of bringing to life an extremely powerful AI system. Since then, we've made important progress on building the world's most sophisticated procedural environments for measuring dual-use capabilities in AI systems. However, as we've grown, we've come to realize that simply flagging the existence of such capabilities in AI systems is not enough. We need to do more than just identify the potential for misuse — we need to actively prevent it.

That's why we're excited to announce our rebrand to Noema Research. The concept of noema comes from the philosophy of Edmund Husserl, who used it to describe the object of thought. Our new name reflects our commitment to empowering individuals and organizations to actively sculpt the objects of artificial thought in prosocial, value-creating ways. In this, we aim to unlock the transformative potential of AI systems by enabling users to more confidently deploy agents and assistants in durable, sustainable ways.

Thank you for following us on this journey, and we can't wait to share more with you soon.
